Joan Banks was married to fellow actor Frank Lovejoy, with whom she had two children. After Lovejoy’s death in 1962, she later married Allan Raymond Johnson in 1969, who was the Chairman of the Board of Saks Fifth Avenue. Joan adopted her husband’s surname, and she was also recognized for her work as a voice-over artist, participating prominently in the 1930s radio series “Gangbusters.”
