Joe Allison was an American actor and composer who is best known for Blood Simple (1984), The Spectacular Now (2013), and Let It Ride (1989).

Joe Allison was born on October 3, 1924, in McKinney, Texas. He was married to Rita Allison from June 15, 1968, until his death. The couple had three children together. Joe was also known for writing the hit country song “He’ll Have to Go” with his first wife.

Death and Legacy

Joe Allison passed away on August 2, 2002, in Nashville, Tennessee, due to respiratory failure from lung disease. His contributions to music and film left a significant impact, earning him a place in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1978.
