John Agar

Born on January 31, 1921, in Chicago, John Agar was the eldest of four children. He served as a physical instructor in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. Agar first entered the public eye when he married actress Shirley Temple in 1945, which helped launch his film career. Their marriage lasted until 1950 and produced one daughter, Susan Agar.

Career

John Agar had a successful acting career, debuting alongside major stars such as John Wayne and Henry Fonda in the film Fort Apache in 1948. Despite being known for his roles in Westerns and science fiction movies, he became disillusioned with Hollywood after being cast in several horror films. Agar later found a niche in television and continued to attend film conventions, often connecting with his fans.
