John Connell

Personal and Family Life

Born on October 28, 1923, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, John Connell served as a radio operator and waist gunner in WWII, participating in 43 bombing missions. He married Mila Connell in 1952, and they had two children, Kathy Connell, a producer, and John V. Connell, an associate producer for sports broadcasts. Connell attended the University of Missouri, where he graduated with a degree in Journalism in 1950 and met his future wife.

Career

Connell enjoyed a diverse acting career, appearing on Broadway and in numerous live television shows during the 1950s. He became well-known for his role as Dr. David Malone in the soap opera Young Dr. Malone. Later, he shifted to commercial voice-overs, lending his voice to many famous brands and earning recognition for his timing and delivery. He also engaged in playwriting and contributed to the Screen Actors Guild as a board member for 13 years.

Death and Legacy

John Connell passed away on September 10, 2015, due to natural causes. His contributions to acting, voice-over work, and his involvement in the Screen Actors Guild left a lasting impact on the industry.
