Johnny Mack Brown was married to Frances Cornelia ‘Connie’ Foster from June 12, 1926, until his passing on November 14, 1974. They had four children together. His father was Ed Brown and his mother was Mattie Brown. Brown stood at an impressive height of 6 feet 1 inch.

Career Beginnings

Before becoming an actor, Brown was an All-American halfback at the University of Alabama. He signed with MGM in 1926 and made his film debut in “Slide, Kelly, Slide” in 1927. He worked with many famous actresses during his early career, but struggled to find his niche until he began starring in westerns in the early 1930s, which eventually led to his success as a cowboy star.
