He worked in many supporting roles throughout his career, often portraying characters such as lawyers and maritime workers. His most notable role came later in life as Obersekretär Koldehoff in the TV series Hafenpolizei, which aired from 1963. During World War II, he continued to act in films, including significant works like Ohm Krüger and Die goldene Stadt.
