Joseph Hazelton was born in 1853 in Wilmington, New York. He experienced a unique and tragic historical moment at the age of 11, as he was in the Ford Theatre passing out programs when President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated.
Career
Hazelton had a noteworthy career in the entertainment field, primarily known for his work in early films and as a veteran stage performer. Throughout his life, he enjoyed various roles and gained recognition in several silent films.
Death and Legacy
He passed away on October 8, 1936, in Los Angeles, California, due to pneumonia. His remains were laid to rest in an unmarked grave at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
