Judith Malina was born on June 4, 1926, in Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. She was the daughter of a German rabbi and was married twice, first to avant-garde artist Julian Beck and later to Hanon Reznikov. Judith had two children with Julian Beck. Throughout her life, she was deeply involved with New York’s Living Theater.

Judith Malina passed away on April 10, 2015, in Englewood, New Jersey, due to lung disease. Her contributions to theater and film have left a lasting impact, especially in the avant-garde community.
