She was married to Alexander (Sandy) Paterson from 1979 until her death in 2020, and had previously been married to Brian Coburn, from whom she divorced. Julia was dedicated to her family and chose to retire from acting in the early 1980s to focus on raising her three children.
Career
Julia appeared in a variety of British comedy shows throughout the 1970s and early 1980s. She was part of Spike Milligan’s supporting cast on the long-running Q series, where she earned the nickname “the bird with the boobs.” Additionally, she performed in the British stage premiere of Andy Warhol’s play ‘Pork’ at the Roundhouse Theatre in London in 1971.
