Julie Gregg was born Beverly Scalzo on January 24, 1937, in Niagara Falls, New York. She graduated from the University of Southern California, where she received a music scholarship. Her acting career began with the help of her mentor, Jackie Cooper, whom she met in her early 20s while he was the president of program development at Screen Gems.
