June Blair was born Margaret June Blair on October 30, 1932, in San Francisco, California. She was married to actor David Nelson from May 20, 1961, until their divorce on June 1, 1975, and they had two sons together, Daniel and James. June was also known for her early engagement to singer Nino Tempo, who wrote the song “Looney over Juney” about her, but they broke off their engagement in 1958.

Career

June Blair began her career as a model, eventually becoming Playboy magazine’s Playmate of the Month in January 1957. She made her acting debut on Jimmy Durante’s TV show, which led to various small roles in films and TV series during the 1950s and 60s. Notably, she played the role of June Nelson on The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet for 28 episodes, portraying David Nelson’s on-screen wife, before leaving acting in 1966 to focus on family and her passion for painting.
