He earned a B.F.A. in Acting from Northern Illinois University in 2005, studying under Kathryn Gately, who trained directly under Sanford Meisner. Justin was also a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and a member of the US Junior National Speedskating team. Later, he studied at the Moscow Art Theatre, co-founded by Konstantin Stanislavski.
