Kathryn was born on June 5, 1922, in Delaware, Ohio, to parents Gilbert and Ruth Eagon. She graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University, where she met Mark H. Fuller, her future husband, during World War II. They married in July 1945 at Christ Church in New York City and eventually settled in California, where they had six children together.

Kathryn began her acting career performing in local theaters like the Pasadena Playhouse and Glendale Centre Theatre. She made numerous appearances on television and in films, showcasing her talents as an actress, director, and writer.
