Lark Bronlee, originally named Minnette Buddecke, had a rich family life. She married John George “Jack” Lange in 1926, and together they had four children: Hope Lange, Joy Lange Boardman, and David Lange. After Jack’s death in 1942, she continued to live in Greenwich Village, where she opened a restaurant called “Minette’s,” which operated from 1944 to 1956. Lark also had a notable connection to the art world, being the sister-in-law of famous photographer Dorothea Lange.
