Born as Julius Mednikoff on February 22, 1916, in Hackney, London, Larry Jay had a family life marked by two marriages. He was married to Christine Waddicor, with whom he had two children, and previously to Ethel Farnworth, from whom he divorced after having one child.

Career

Before his film career, Larry was involved in comedy throughout his life. He performed as part of a comedy band known as Dr. Crock and His Crackpots and also worked in a double act called Jay and Kaye alongside Syd Kaye.

Death and Legacy

Larry Jay passed away on January 16, 1967, in Eastbourne, East Sussex, England, due to pancreatic cancer. His contributions to silent comedy and film have left a lasting impression on the entertainment industry.
