Laura Adani was born on October 7, 1913, in Modena, Italy, into a family of merchants. She was the fourth child of Alberto Adani and Pia Capri. Though none of her family was involved in theater, she became interested in acting early in life, inspired by her sisters who married into theatrical families. At the age of fifteen, she was introduced to theater director Tatyana Pavlova, who began her career in acting.
Career
Adani became a celebrated stage actress in Italy and played leading roles in several prestigious theatrical companies. In 1935, she co-founded her theatrical company with actor Renzo Ricci, which operated successfully until the outbreak of World War II. Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, she acted in significant plays, including “Tobacco Road” and “Happy Days.” Laura also made her film debut at the young age of twenty in “Aria di Paese” in 1933, going on to appear in a total of thirteen films and various television roles during her lengthy career.
Death and Legacy
Laura Adani passed away on August 30, 1996, at the age of 82 in Moncalieri, Italy. She was laid to rest in the Chieri cemetery near Turin. Adani is remembered for her contributions to Italian theater and film, leaving behind a legacy of powerful performances and a passion for the arts.
