Lee Powell married Norma Rogers on January 7, 1940. Norma was the daughter of the owner of the Barnett Brothers Circus, where Powell worked as a trick rider. The couple remained together until his death in 1944.
Death and Legacy
Lee Powell died on July 30, 1944, in Tinian, Northern Mariana Islands, during World War II. Initially believed to have been killed in combat, it was later revealed that he actually died from acute alcohol poisoning after celebrating with fellow Marines. Despite his tragic end, he is remembered today for his significant contributions to early film and television.
