Lee Remick was born to Gertrude Margaret Waldo, an actress, and Francis Edwin Remick, who owned a department store. She had Irish and English heritage and studied at Barnard College. In her personal life, she was married twice, first to Bill Colleran from 1957 to 1968, with whom she had two children, and later to Kip Gowans in 1970 until her passing in 1991.

Lee made her film debut in 1957 with “A Face in the Crowd” and quickly rose to fame with her standout performance in “Anatomy of a Murder” in 1959.
