Personal and Family Life
Leo Ford was not only dedicated to his craft as an actor but also actively volunteered for charities like Project Angel Food and Project Open Hand, which helped individuals living with AIDS. He had a rich personal life, having spent four months in India to study meditation after leaving college. Leo ran his own tourist business, Pacific Paradise Tours, while living in Hawaii, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit.
Death and Legacy
Leo Ford passed away in a motorcycle accident in Los Angeles when he was struck by a truck that made an illegal turn. He suffered severe head trauma and died two days later. His partner, Craig Markle, who was with him at the time, survived with minor injuries. A contemplative service was held for Leo, where members of the Santa Monica Siddha Meditation Center chanted, and he was cremated with his ashes scattered near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. In his memory, a tree was even planted in India.
