Leon Beaumon

Leon Beaumon was an American actor, best known for his roles in A Fight to the Finish, Pioneer Trail, and Clancy of the Mounted. He was born Herman Bauman on March 15, 1898, in Youngstown, Ohio.

Leon Beaumon grew up in a family of German immigrants and worked in steel mills during his youth. He initially aimed to become a Catholic priest but changed his path after a disagreement at the seminary. In the 1920s, he moved to California with his brother Marty, where they faced struggles before finding their way in Hollywood. Leon was the brother of 1930s actor Martin Beaumon and the great-uncle of actor Sterling Beaumon.

Career

During the 1920s and 1930s, Leon had various roles in films, including credited appearances and several uncredited parts. He often played villains in westerns alongside stars like Ken Maynard. After his acting career, he also ran an ice cream shop and became an inventor, creating innovations such as a wireless radio and a record changer. Due to his desire to maintain privacy about his age and career, many details about his filmography remain largely unknown.

Death and Legacy

Leon Beaumon passed away on December 1, 1981, in Corona, California, at the age of 83 due to cancer. His wife, Theresa, had died three years earlier, and Leon was supported during his illness by his nephew and his family.
