Liam Clancy

Liam Clancy was an Irish actor and director who is best known for The Guard, Camera Dances: Volume 5, and Camera Dances: Volume 3. He was born on September 2, 1935, in Carrick on Suir, Tipperary, Ireland, and he passed away on December 4, 2009, in Cork, Ireland.

Personal and Family Life

Liam Clancy was the youngest of eleven children and grew up in a large family in Carrick-on-Suir. He was married to Kim Clancy, and together they had four children: Eban, Siobhan, Donal, and Fiona, along with eight grandchildren. Liam had two sisters, Joan and Peg, and he was also the brother of Tom and Pat Clancy, both of whom have since passed away.

Career

Clancy was not only an actor but also made a mark as a director and a musician. He and his brothers recorded over a dozen albums with Tommy Makem before their group disbanded in 1974. In the 1960s, he shared a friendship with notable musician Bob Dylan while living in Greenwich Village, New York City.
