Lieux Dressler was an American actress best known for her roles in “General Hospital,” “Kingdom of the Spiders,” and “Grave of the Vampire.” Born as Louise Aldrich, she had a diverse career in film, television, and music.

Personal and Family Life

Lieux Dressler was born on February 27, 1930. She had a colorful childhood, as her parents performed with a carnival entertainment group that toured state fairs in the southern United States, including Shreveport, Louisiana. In the 1960s, she was a jazz-type singer in Dallas clubs and also married twice, first to Angel Leon Stath and later to Morris Eugene Repass, with whom she stayed until her passing. She had two sons from her first marriage and later moved to Los Angeles in pursuit of her acting career.

Career

Ms. Dressler began her artistic journey performing in nightclubs before moving to the West Coast, where she studied drama for two years. In 1969, she established her workshop, The Sweatshop at The Patio Playhouse, which eventually evolved into “The Gym.” There, she developed acting techniques known as The Mechanics of Believability, and she contributed to various stages, films, and television series.

Death and Legacy

Lieux Dressler passed away on February 8, 2018, in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California. Her extensive career left a mark on both stage and screen, and she is remembered for her impactful performances, particularly as Alice Grant on “General Hospital.” Her work continues to inspire future generations of actors.
