Lucille Bremer was born on February 21, 1917, in Amsterdam, New York. She married Abelardo Luis Rodriguez in July 1948, and they had four children before divorcing in 1963. During her early career, she was discovered by Arthur Freed while performing a dance act in a nightclub.
