Luis Arcaraz was the father of Luis Arcaraz Jr. and María Luisa Arcaraz Genesta. He was also a grandfather to Dacia Arcaraz, Luis Arcaraz, and Luisa María Martínez Arcaraz. Alongside his music career, he had interests in bullfighting and studied engineering and music in Spain.

Luis Arcaraz died in an automobile accident on December 15, 1963, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.
