Luis Arcaraz

Luis Arcaraz was a Mexican actor and composer, best known for his work in films such as Frida (2002), El valiente vive… hasta que el cobarde quiere (1979), and Nadie muere dos veces (1953). He was born on December 5, 1905, in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico, and passed away on December 15, 1963, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

Personal and Family Life

Luis Arcaraz was the father of Luis Arcaraz Jr. and María Luisa Arcaraz Genesta. He was also a grandfather to Dacia Arcaraz, Luis Arcaraz, and Luisa María Martínez Arcaraz. Alongside his music career, he had interests in bullfighting and studied engineering and music in Spain.

Death and Legacy

Luis Arcaraz died in an automobile accident on December 15, 1963, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. His contributions to music and film made a lasting impact, and he is remembered as one of the finest Latin dance bandleaders of his time. In 1951, he won Mexico’s Gold Record Award for his composition ‘Quinto Patio’.
