Personal and Family Life

Lynnette, often called Lynne or “Swannie,” was born in Sydney, Australia, to parents Minnie and Joseph. She attended Fort St. Girls High School and, despite leaving at age 15, excelled in her studies and graduated as Valedictorian from the nursing school at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney in 1964. After moving to London in the 1960s, she worked as a private nurse for notable figures, including the Prime Minister and members of the Royal Family, before venturing into various jobs in Hong Kong.

Career

Lynne’s career was diverse; she worked in medical roles and later became the Sales/Marketing Manager for multiple factories producing electronic components. During her time in Tokyo, she met James Gaza, whom she married. They eventually settled in Chicago, where Lynne made a significant impact in the education sector, publishing, teaching, and coaching students. She also pursued her passion for acting with roles in university plays, student films, and eventually larger projects in television and film.

Death and Legacy

Lynnette Gaza passed away on August 14, 2023. She is survived by her children, Michelle and Jonathan, and her grandchildren Malakai and Janaia. Lynne left a legacy of inspiration and affection, remembered by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched through her work and travels.
