Pershing, a notable figure in World War I. In 1922, she married James H. Johnson and had a daughter named Helen, who was born on March 31, 1924, before stepping away from her acting career.

Marcella Pershing appeared in several silent films during the early 1920s, with notable appearances in short westerns. She worked predominantly in 1921, featuring in multiple productions alongside well-known actors of the time.
