Mark Dawson was born on March 23, 1920, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was married twice, first to Constance McGann from 1941 until their divorce in 1948, and later to Aleen Buchanan. Dawson also studied at the Philadelphia Conservatory, where he developed his acting skills.
