Beebe was born on August 6, 1913, in Anaheim, California. He attended Occidental College, where he earned a degree in mathematics and physics in 1935. He later joined the Navy, becoming a naval aviator and actively participating in World War II.
Military Career
During World War II, Beebe led two squadrons and was credited with shooting down 10.5 Japanese planes. He continued his service into the Korean War, where he commanded Air Group 5 aboard the USS Essex. After his military career, he served as a naval attaché in Venezuela and rose to the rank of captain before retiring in 1963.
Death and Legacy
Marshall U. Beebe passed away on March 19, 1991, in Corona Del Mar, California. His contributions to the Navy and film industry left a lasting impact, especially through his experiences that informed his acting career.
