Career

Mary’s entry into acting was unexpected; she found herself at a film studio after her theatrical troupe disbanded in New York City. She gained significant fame with the first movie serial, What Happened to Mary, in 1912, but by the mid-1910s, she stepped back from Hollywood, eventually disappearing from the public eye.

Death and Legacy

Mary Fuller died on December 9, 1973, of natural causes, in a Washington, D.C. mental hospital where she had spent her last 25 years. Her life is marked by both her early accomplishments in film and her later struggles, leaving a mystery about her years away from the spotlight.
