Millar had a remarkable singing talent, starting to perform arias at the age of fourteen, which led to a successful career in musical theater.

Career

Mary Millar made her London stage debut in the 1962 production “Lock Up Your Daughters” and became a prominent figure in musical theater. She was part of the original cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera,” where she played the role of Madame Giry, which can be heard on the cast recording. Her final performance was in 1996, portraying Mrs. Potts in “Beauty and the Beast.”
