Matt Landers was an American actor who is best known for his roles in “Die Hard,” “48 Hrs.,” and “Ray’s Male Heterosexual Dance Hall.” He was born Matthew Maurice Landers on October 21, 1952, in Utica, New York, and he passed away on March 12, 2015, in Los Angeles, California.
Personal and Family Life
Matt Landers graduated from Notre Dame High School and studied at the Boston Conservatory of Music. He was married to Murphy Cross from October 31, 1982, until his death, and together they had two daughters named Lily Kivlen Landers and Fiona Kathleen Landers. He began his acting career in 1969 at the Surflight Summer Theater in New Jersey and appeared in his first Equity performance as Jesus in “Godspell.”
Career
Matt made his Broadway debut as the first replacement in the role of Sonny in “Grease” at the Royale Theater. He received a nomination for a New York Drama Desk Award for his performance in Studs Terkel’s “Working” in 1982. In television, he portrayed Pinkerton in “The George Carlin Show” and appeared in various other series throughout his career.
Death and Legacy
