Meena Kumari was born on August 1, 1932, in Mumbai, India, into a poor Parsee family. Her birth name was Begum Mahjabeen Bux, and she was known for her beauty and talent from a young age. She was married to Kamal Amrohi, a notable filmmaker, from 1952 until her death in 1972. Kumari had two siblings, Khurshid Jr. and Madhu, both of whom were connected to the film industry.
