Miklós Benedek was married to Éva Hodgyai from 1971 until his passing in 2024. The couple had two children, Tibor and Albert. His son, Tibor Benedek, is notable as a three-time Olympic champion in water polo, winning medals at the Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. He named his son after his father, Tibor Benedek, who tragically took his own life in 1963.
