Mildred Gregory grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was married to Lawrence Palmer Brown from November 17, 1926, until his death on April 2, 1949. Lawrence was the son of Margaret Tobin Brown, famously known as the “Unsinkable Molly Brown,” who survived the RMS Titanic disaster.
