Mona Fouad was born Esther Mona Feldstein on July 29, 1933, in Alexandria, Egypt. She was married to Charles Damon (Chuck) Hamlin from 1954 until his death in June 2015, and they had two children together. Her son, Joseph “Joey” Hamlin, is known for his work in the theater. Mona was also recognized for her contributions to beauty and fashion, particularly in the development of acrylic sculptured nails.
