She was married four times, which included Magnus Roger and Sture Åkerberg, with whom she had a daughter named Eva-Lena Zetterlund. Despite her successful career, Monica faced personal challenges, including a struggle with scoliosis, which affected her performance in later years.

Career

Monica started her career by singing in her father’s band and was one of the few artists to sing jazz in Swedish. She found international acclaim in 1960 during her tour in the United States, notably appearing on “The Steve Allen Show.” Her contributions to Swedish culture earned her the Ilis Quorum medal from the government.
