Nancy Carroll was an American actress who is best known for There Goes My Heart, The Shopworn Angel, and Devil’s Holiday.

Nancy Carroll, born Ann Veronica LaHiff on November 19, 1903, in New York City, was one of seven children. She left high school at the age of sixteen to work as a stenographer before discovering her passion for performing in local competitions. Nancy married Jack Kirkland in 1925 and had a daughter named Patricia, who would later also act.
Career
Nancy made her film debut in the 1927 comedy Ladies Must Dress and became known for her roles in popular talkies during the 1930s. Despite her early success, she faced challenges in her career, leading to a decline in roles and finally choosing to step back from filmmaking in 1938. She later returned to the stage and made notable appearances on television.
Death and Legacy
Nancy Carroll tragically passed away on August 6, 1965, at the age of 61, due to an aneurysm. At the time of her death, she was starring in the play Never Too Late and was found in her New York apartment. Her contributions to film and theater are remembered, and she is buried with her parents in Calvary Cemetery, Queens, New York.
