Nikolai Gritsenko was a Russian actor, best known for his roles as Kareni in Anna Karenina (1967) directed by Aleksandr Zarkhi and as a Nazi General in the TV series Semnadtsat mgnovenii vesny directed by Tatyana Lioznova.

Nikolai Gritsenko was born on July 24, 1912, in Yasinovataya, Donetsk province, which was part of the Russian Empire and is now located in Ukraine. He graduated from the Makeevka School of musical drama in 1934 and continued his acting studies in Kiev and at the Shchukin Theatrical School in Moscow from 1937 to 1940, where he graduated as an actor.
Career
Gritsenko was a dedicated member of the Vakhtangov Theatre in Moscow from 1940 until his passing in 1979. He shared the stage with many notable actors and was acclaimed for his performances, including portraying Fedor Protasov in “Zhivoy Trup” (The Living Corpse, 1962) and Prince Myshkin in “Idiot” (1958). He was honored as the People’s Actor of the USSR in 1964 and received the State Prize of the USSR in 1951 for his work in film.
Death and Legacy
Nikolai Gritsenko passed away on December 8, 1979, in Moscow, due to heart failure. He was laid to rest in the prestigious Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow, leaving behind a legacy as a significant figure in Russian theater and film.
