Nita Raya was an American actress who is best known for Le roi des gangsters, Chipée, and Bécassine. Born as Raisa Beloff-Gherscovici on October 15, 1915, in Kishinev, Russian Empire (now Chisinau, Moldova), she made a significant mark in the film industry.

Nita Raya was married to Joseph Akcelrod from February 8, 1949, until their divorce on June 7, 1955. The couple had one child together. She also had a grandchild named Grégoire Akcelrod. Prior to her marriage, she was in a long-term relationship with the famous singer and actor Maurice Chevalier from 1935 to 1945.

Death and Legacy

Nita Raya passed away on March 25, 2015, in Trégastel, Côtes-d’Armor, France. Over her lifetime, she left behind a legacy of memorable performances in film. Her contributions to cinema continue to be appreciated by audiences even after her passing.
