Patrick Fyffe was born in Stafford, England, on January 23, 1942. He had a brother, Jane Fyffe, who was a soprano. Before his acting career, he worked as a hairdresser and then pursued acting in repertory theater.

Initially a female impersonator named Perri St Clair, Fyffe teamed up with George Logan in 1972 to create Hinge and Bracket. The duo became popular at the Edinburgh Festival in 1974, leading to performances in London’s West End and several successful tours in Australia.
