Patrick Watson

Patrick Watson was a Canadian actor and writer who is best known for Titans (1981), The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau (1966), and One Step at a Time (1964).

Personal and Family Life

Born on December 23, 1929, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Patrick Watson was married to Caroline Bamford and had three children. He left a PhD program in linguistics at the University of Michigan in 1955 to join the CBC. His career began in 1943 with a role in the CBC Radio series The Kootenay Kid, where he earned just $1 per episode.

Career Achievements

Patrick Watson published several novels and non-fiction books, as well as a one-man play titled The Book of Job in 1983, in which he also performed. In 2004, he released his autobiography, This Hour Has Seven Decades. His contributions to Canadian communications earned him the title of Officer of the Order of Canada in 1981 and Companion of the Order of Canada in 2001.
