Pavlos Sidiropoulos was born on August 27, 1948, in Athens to a wealthy Pontic Greek family. His father, Konstantinos Sidiropoulos, was a businessman, and his mother, Ioanna, hailed from Crete. He had notable relatives, including the novelist Nikos Kazantzakis through his maternal aunt.

Career

Sidiropoulos began his music career in the early 1970s and became part of various bands, including “Damon and Phintias” and “Aprosarmostoi.” He also pursued acting, notably starring in “O Asymvivastos,” where he performed all the film’s songs. His work often addressed themes of drug use and societal issues, making him a controversial figure in Greek music.

Death and Legacy

Pavlos Sidiropoulos passed away on December 6, 1990, due to a heroin overdose at the age of 42. His death was ruled accidental, but there were speculations about suicidal intentions.
