Peggy Feury was born as Margaret Feury on June 20, 1924, in Jersey City, New Jersey. She graduated from Barnard College and also studied at Yale Drama School and the Neighborhood Playhouse. She was married to William Traylor from November 26, 1961, until her death in 1985, and they had two children, Stephanie and Susan. Prior to that, she was married to Louis S. Peterson from 1952 to 1961.

Career

Peggy Feury was a charter member of the Actors Studio in New York and played a crucial role in establishing the Actors Studio West and the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in California. She was known for her association with the ‘Method’ acting style and taught many renowned actors, including Lily Tomlin and Sean Penn, making her one of the most respected drama teachers in Los Angeles.

Death and Legacy

Peggy Feury passed away on November 20, 1985, in Los Angeles, California, due to a road accident caused by her struggle with narcolepsy. Her legacy lives on through her contributions to acting and the many successful students she influenced during her teaching career.
