Polly Williams was an English actress best known for her roles in “The Slipper and the Rose” and “Upstairs, Downstairs.” Born on January 5, 1950, in Sussex, England, she was the daughter of actor Hugh Williams and actress Margaret Vyner.
Personal and Family Life
Polly was born as Pollyanna Margaret Williams and was the third child in her family. She had two brothers, poet Hugo Williams and actor Simon Williams. Polly was married twice; her first husband was John V Bloomfield, with whom she had two children and later divorced. In 1989, she married actor Nigel Havers, who remained her husband until her death.
Death and Legacy
Polly Williams passed away on June 24, 2004, at the age of 54 after a courageous battle with cancer. She died at The London Clinic in London. Polly is remembered for her contributions to acting, as well as for being a devoted mother and wife.
