Radu Beligan was an American actor who is best known for A Lost Letter, O noapte furtunoasa, and The Thistles of the Baragan. He was born on December 14, 1918, in Galbeni, Bacau, Romania, and had a long and distinguished career in film and theater.

Radu Beligan was married three times. His spouses include Marica Beligan, who he was married to from 1965 until her death in February 1993, Dana Crivat-Ionescu, and Nineta Gusti. He was the father of actress Lamia Beligan.
Career
Beligan graduated from the Dramatic Arts Conservatory in Bucharest. He began acting in films in 1943 and had a prolific career, becoming one of Romania’s most respected actors. In 2004, he was honored as an Honorary Member of the Romanian Academy. His contributions to the arts led to a public space in Bucharest being named Radu Beligan Square, alongside the installation of a bust in his memory.
