Born on December 14, 1924, in Peshawar, Raj Kapoor was part of a prominent film family. He was the son of actor Prithviraj Kapoor and married Krishna Kapoor in 1947. The couple had five children, including well-known actors Randhir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor.
