Ramesh Deo was born on January 30, 1929, in Kolhapur, India. He was married to Seema Deo, known as Nalini Saraf in her early acting days, from 1963 until his passing in 2022. The couple had two children: actor Ajinkya Deo and director Abhinav Deo, who is noted for the movie Delhi Belly. Ramesh also had a grandchild, Arya Deo, who recently started his acting career.

Ramesh Deo began his acting journey with a cameo in the Marathi film Paatlaachi Por in 1951. He established himself in the industry starting with the 1956 film Andhala Magto Ek Dola, and played various roles, including villains in many movies. His first Hindi film was Aarti in 1962. Over his extensive career, he worked alongside numerous stars, including Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna, earning a reputation for his versatile acting skills.

Ramesh Deo passed away on February 2, 2022, in Mumbai due to a heart attack.
