Ramsay Ames was born on March 30, 1919, in New York City. She was married to Dale Wasserman but later divorced him in 1980. Throughout her early life, she trained in Latin-style dance and performed as part of a dance team. However, after an injury, she shifted her focus to singing and became a vocalist for a popular rhumba band.

Career Highlights

After Ramsay’s acting career started in the early 1940s, she lived in Spain with her husband, where she hosted her own television interview show and appeared in supporting roles in European films. Her big break came when she met Columbia President Harry Cohn, leading to her screen test and debut film, Two SeƱoritas from Chicago, in 1943. She became a leading lady in many “B” films during the 1940s.
