Rena Dor

Rena Dor was an American actress best known for her roles in “Ο Τζίτζικας κι ο Μέρμηγκας,” “Τρελοί Πολυτελείας,” and “Η Ελληνίδα και ο έρωτας.” She was born Eirini Giannatou in Patra, Greece in 1917 and had a successful career in theater and film.

Personal and Family Life

Rena Dor began her career in the 1930s as a ballet dancer and performed on stage with famous divas like Zozo Dalmas. She fell in love with Giorgos Oikonomidis in 1943, but both were arrested in 1944 during the German occupation. After World War II, she gained fame in a leading role at the “Acropole” Theater, becoming a celebrated actress.

Relationships

In the 1950s, Rena became romantically involved with Alekos Livaditis. They lived together for seven years but never married. Throughout her career, she also made memorable appearances on the radio during the 50s and 60s.

Death and Legacy

Rena Dor passed away from a stroke on March 5, 2000, in Athens, Greece. Her contributions to theater and film have left a lasting impact on the Greek entertainment industry, and she is remembered as a talented actress of her time.
