She fell in love with Giorgos Oikonomidis in 1943, but both were arrested in 1944 during the German occupation. After World War II, she gained fame in a leading role at the “Acropole” Theater, becoming a celebrated actress.

In the 1950s, Rena became romantically involved with Alekos Livaditis. They lived together for seven years but never married. Throughout her career, she also made memorable appearances on the radio during the 50s and 60s.
