Rene Boucicault, born Renee Holbrook Boucicault, was the daughter of actor Aubrey Boucicault and the granddaughter of famous playwright Dion Boucicault. Throughout her life, she was married twice, first to Clarel Sellye from 1914 to 1916, and later to Howard Marks, with whom she had one child, Arline Patricia. Despite her connection to a prominent theatrical family, she struggled financially later in life.
